The LGMS's purpose is to bring together persons interested in the gem and
mineral hobby; to promote the study and collecting of minerals, fossils,
artifacts and the lapidary arts.

orkshop. It houses an assortment of lapidary equipment that are freely
available to members.

LGMS

South Central Federation of Mineral Societies
and the national
The American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
LGMS awards an
Annual Scholarship
to a select student in the Geosciences Department at
Texas Tech University
. And, in addition, contributes to the
American Federation Scholarship Fund
in the field of Earth Sciences.
The LGMS meets at the Gardens & Arts Center, 4215 University, on the first
Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm CT.
